DTV placed on back burner yet again

So after opening my trap last week and proclaiming “FINALLY!”, the federal government in all their infinite wisdom decided to delay the digital television transition for three months.

You know, the same delay that was voted down last week. So now the transition moves to June where I am sure we will all see yet another reason for a delay. I think we have taken long enough to make it happen. Those who are not ready now, will not be ready then for the most part.

But here is an interesting tidbit. Many stations across the country have bucked the trend and will switch to all-digital come February 17. And for the first time and a while I get to say something nice about the state I currently live in. Utah, with all its craziness and misperceptions, will go ahead and make the switch, and we will go all digital in 12 some odd days.

But then again, Utah is like 95% Republican, you know, the same Republicans who have other uses for the digital spectrum in hopes of turning profit. What was that I said about maybe saying something nice about Utah? I am going back to Austin.
