What the Woz is going on?
Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple and Segway rider extraordinaire, completed his first dance last night for the new season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. And all I had running through my head was The Woz was leading geekdom to a new level.
Throw away the fact that it would have actually looked better if he would have done the dance on a Segway, and that his ill timed attempts at humor were met with resounding silence or someone else just talking over him, you know that Geek has arrived just by him being on the show.
Did I really need to see the rump shakin’, shimmying, spirit fingered Wozniak prance around in a pink boa? Good thing dance partner Karina Smirnoff was was basically giggling around with her whatnots covered by black fluff. Come on Woz, you have to bring it, and bring it hard.

That photo looks like some shlub is posing next to a cardboard cutout of a real dancer. Like if there was a “Dancing with the Stars Experience” at Disney.
Actually, they BOTH look like cardboard cutouts. It’s like the lens-flared background and Christmas tree (or whatever that is) were walking by and got taken to pose in a blurry photo with cutouts of Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff.
good point. Although Wozniak just has that look like he’s been wandering around a theme park for hours after eating his weight in sausage in Germany at Epcot.
And, I think I just found the background to my next Christmas card.
Man! If they really want to get a geek contigent going on DWTS, they should pull out someone who has some chance of bustin a move. Not that I’ve got a problem with the Wozinator, but his extreme lack of coordination coupled with shots of his sweaty t-shirts doesn’t really say “family friendly” to me!
I missed him, I confess. I’ve never watched this show before and some sort of sick fascination made me tune in last night—for about 15 minutes.
Never again.
You know, I’m always talking about how I don’t have the Tahmoh or the LIfetime gene, etc. I’m starting to think that I don’t have the girl gene. This show is just so not me.
Oh, you don’t have to WATCH it to mock it.

We saw it on a minivan driving around. Just sheer coincidence that it was yours I suppose.
Wait…looking back on this, did I really to The Woz to bring it hard…I need some bottled mind scrub to get rid of that image.
