Firefly floating around me

Its no secret that I consider Firefly my most favorite television show of all time. And although it is past and gone, I always enjoy running into little tidbits here and there of the show. Even more, I love them when they come clustered together. It fires up the engines and just gets me going again about Firefly and its wrongs and how it needs to come back like now!

First is a lovely t-shirt of one of Wash’s most memorable lines (and one that I use much too frequently leaving people scratching their heads). Have to give thanks to Quantum Mechanix who are always supply the Browncoats with an endless supply of delectable doodads and baubles.

And then comes better news that QMX is sponsoring the Name a Crappy Town Where You’re a Hero contest. 50 town names will be auctioned via eBay with all proceeds going toward Joss Whedon’s favorite charity Equality Now. Auction winners (pending studio approval) will have their submissions added to the upcoming official Atlas of the ‘Verse, Volume One: The Trader’s Guild Guide to the New Canaan Run.

I still need to get my hands on a set of the travel posters QMX produced.

And then lucky me, it was our biweekly geek night where the crew gathers and we roll dice in the ‘Verse. I have never really wanted to die in a role playing game. Matter of fact, I would almost cheat to not die. But something came over me last night, I was really intrigued by the notion of character death. I didn’t throw the fight or anything, matter of fact, I think I acted quite heroic like in the face of danger. But somewhere along the way I got knocked out and batted around by a frag grenade.

Not only myself, but another in the party fell victim to some untimely rolls of the dice with a third teetering on the brink of submission as well. Sadly somewhere along the way someone stuck a stim in my neck and thanks to the type of armor I was wearing I was meerly knocked out, not shredded to death by bullets. So Jackson the Space Cowboy gets to live on another day.
