Utah has such a variety of odd and beautiful landscapes, it’s been showcased in a number of science fiction classics like “Planet of the Apes”, “Galaxy Quest” and even as a part of Vulcan in the new “Star Trek” movie. Now, according to The Salt Lake Tribune, comes word that Pixar’s Andrew Stanton (director of “Finding Nemo,”  ”Wall-E”) will shoot for 45 days in and around southern Utah for his first live action film “John Carter of Mars”, based on the novels by “Tarzan” author Edgar Rice Burroughs.

I’ve always been a geek when it comes to visiting locations that were used in films, and a movie of this geek stature shooting here in Utah excites me tremendously.

Oooo! I did not know they were making those into a movie. Very excited.
