A geektastic end to my vacation

I tell you what, nine days without needing to work really helps make a guy feel good. The first part of the trip was spent in Arizona looking at a big hole called the Grand Canyon. That was cool and all if you like that nature type stuff. But as we got back home and settled in, it took a turn towards geekdom.

So with that, I just wanted to record for prosperity how the vacation ended…

  • Listened to A Sword of Storms by George RR Martin on the drive home (good start)
  • Quested for good Mexican food (fail)
  • Swung by the comics shop (Wheel of Time comics came in, sweet)
  • Read said comics (Spider-man going in a sweet direction)
  • Quested for good chicken wings (fail)
  • Finally saw Star Trek (frickin’ mind blowing)
  • Later that night finally watched Hancock (not bad)
  • Attended the local Scottish Festival and Highland Games (no kilt)
  • Totally watched the last three episodes of Legend of the Seeker (still no desire to read the books)
  • Watched an episode of Heroes (still five left to finish the season)
  • Will attend Marian Call concert surrounded by my fellow geekdom (rain or shine, I made salsa and will bring rum)
  • Will quest to find an abundance of cheap six sided dice (damn you Shadowrun)

I must say. Not a bad way to end a vacation. Questing will continue.

Geeksix is amazingly quiet today. Are you people actually working?

I, however, am working.

I’m also involved in a debate over whether or not Elmo is the love child of John Crichton and Dominar Rygel XVI.

But still: working.

Sounds like a great way to end a vacation… Though I am incredibly jealous of you for getting the WoT comics…
