Top 5: Friends moments

I tend to frequent online television. Hulu is a well known friend and keeps me well reminded of the shows I tend to miss. But what Hulu doesn’t have, someone else does. So I will haunt Adult Swim, ABC, Cartoon Network and The WB websites.

Recently with the summer slowdown and not a whole lot of original material (at least Burn Notice and freshman show Royal Pains started up), I have found myself trying to find something to watch. Enter The WB, now a fully online television venture.

Their original material tends to be 4-6 minute shorts for online series. Not much doing for me there although Rockville, CA had a good first season with decent indie music. But where the real gold lies is in their backlog of old shows, Veronica Mars, Smallville, The OC, Buffy, Angel, and Firefly.

And a recent mini-marathon of Friends is what brings me to this top five. Now I have to admit. I never actually watched Friends on television until like season nine. But at this point now I do own all ten seasons on DVD and rank the show as one of my favorites.

And so in honor of the show which ended five years ago, I provide you with my top five Friends moments. So hard, as there were so many.

5) The One with Chandbe
Season 5, Episode 14: “The One Where Everybody Finds Out”

4) The One with Joey Freud
Season 1, Episode 6: “The One with the Butt”

3) The One with Trifle
Season 6, Episode 9: “The One Where Ross Got High”

2) The One with the Lightning Round
Season 4, Episode 12: “The One with the Embryos

1) The One with the Experience
Season 4, Episode 7: “The One Where Chandler Cross the Line”

And just for more fun, here is a quick quiz so you can let us all know Which Friends Character You Are. Share you Friends moments and just who you may be.

Definitely one of my favorite television shows of all time, it was so hilarious, and I really loved the characters (especially Chandler).

My results–
You are part Ross. You’re intelligent and adored by your parents. However, your lack of social skills causes you to talk too much and try too hard. While your friends pick on you for your nerdiness, they better watch out for your rage.

You are part Chandler. You’re funny and that’s why people like to have you around. You’re also a great friend, and when someone you care about is in trouble, they know to come to you for some level-headed advice followed by some sharp sarcasm.

“You are Phoebe. You’re the weird kid with odd habits. Most people don’t know it, but you’re kinky in bed. Your childhood memories aren’t your best, but why do you care? There’s plenty of time to make up for your lost childhood now that you’re an adult.”

Um…. Whatever you say, oh Quiz Master. Personally, Phoebe was probably the one I least identified with–save for Joey, of course.

No, I take it back: I didn’t really identify with any of them. The closest would probably be Monica. I still use the line, “You don’t know me at all!” when someone who knows me well suggests I could be less anal about something.

Chandler: It’s okay, you don’t have to be the best at everything.
Monica: Oh my God! You don’t know me at all!

LOL! Um, yeah: that fits. I use it whenever I am displaying any of Monica’s characteristics.

I enjoyed this show while it was on—especially the first season—but I can’t watch it now. I don’t watch any sitcoms, though, except for “Frasier.” And now that I’ve seen every one of those episodes at least four times each (seriously: I don’t know what it is, but that show was made for me), I’m probably done.

Oh, and the meat trifle? Classic! I will never forget that one.

Other things from that show stay with me, too. Whenever I get snail mail or email with the spelling of my name screwed up, for example, I always think of “Chanandler Bong.” And of course there is the infamous “We were on a break”…. And Ross in the bathroom with the leather pants, lotion and powder. And Joey and his man purse and VD ads. Man, I remember a lot about “Friends.”

Part Ross/part Monica, hmm? Well, at least you’re keeping it in the family….

Oh fun! I am part Phoebe and part Monica which is pretty accurate, I think.

And to add to the favorite moments, I’m particularly fond of Ross the Hanukkah Armadillo.

Ah… the armadillo, I’m sure I laughed so hard I cried… Oh and Chandler’s “nubbin”? *sigh* Good times…

Holiday armadillo is one of my favorites.
I’d also argue for the one where ross flirts and the one when ross gets stuck in his leather pants.
Was I just talking about GAS?
