I’m going to see Serenity…again

csts09_poster_final-231x300Yep, that is right. I think this will bring me to my sixth viewing of Joss Whedon’s continuation of Firefly, Serenity, on the big screen.

Tonight after some very serious dinner, meaning brats and beer, it was decided by those at the table that it was a moral imperative that we must attend the Salt Lake City Can’t Stop the Serenity event. An event that happens on an annual basis to raise awareness for Equality Now, a charity near and dear to Whedon’s heart.

But it also means I get to see all my big damn heroes in action again…when I am not watching them on DVD.

Utah Browncoats represent!

Last year I dressed up as Wash. Decent outfit, I didn’t have the hair for it. Thinking about Jayne this time around since I can sport the knit cap and all. It is quite cunning after all.

Have to give a shout out to all my fellow Utah Browncoats. Even louder shout out to those who took the time and effort to organize this puppy. Sometimes I wish we were more of a cohesive group but maybe not like the crazy Stormtroopers.

So Thursday, 7ish or so, at Brewvies in Salt Lake. If you happen to be in the city or the general vicinity, you should swing by. Or buy tickets in case they might be sold out by then (and they are cheaper before the day of the event). Or if you are not around, make a donation to the cause.

Camera should be in hand for reporting afterward.

There is a better photo of this somewhere. Probably Christy has it for blackmail purposes.

How convenient, it just so happens that I will be in the city on Thursday. And yes, I do have a better picture somewhere for blackmail purposes.

Also, I now have I’m Gonna See Serenity stuck in my head…thanks a lot Friend!
