Baseball games are always tough to get right. The only serious game that’s worth its salt is EA’s MVP 2005. So it makes sense that the next progression in the genre is to bribe players to play, with the allure of becoming a millionaire. When MLB 2K10 debuts in March, the first player to pitch a perfect game against the computer on All-Star mode will win a million bucks.
The set up is a little fishy, since you have to physically record it and send it in, but it should spur sales a little bit in what is probably the least popular category of sports game.
I also think the pitcher used to pitch the perfect game should get a million bucks. If you are a good enough hurler to digitally translate into guy who can be used to get 27 straight outs in the convoluted annoyance that is the 2K system, you deserve a little sugar back.
