Riddick finally gets his trilogy

After years of idly pandering to fans about his quest for a third movie, Vin Diesel is officially donning the shiny-eye contacts for a third Riddick film.

He’s teaming up with writer/director David Twohy for the as-yet-untitled movie. And, thankfully, the movie is looking to resemble the smaller-scale action of “Pitch Black” instead of the grandiose and watered-down nature of “The Chronicles of Riddick.”

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a lot more badassery, and a little less of Diesel trying to play at space opera themes.

I’m so happy right now, Pitch Black is one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies.

Can’t wait for Mr. Diesel to once again — in his best Dolph Lundgren voice — ask us if we’re afraid of the dark

I enjoyed “Pitch Black.” I tried to watch the other one three times, but fell asleep about 15 minutes into it every one of those times.

True fact – Pitch Black is written by the same team that did Battle for Endor

I did a fake movie pitch (with dialogue from various source material) on my lj last july…hopefully the real thing will go something like this:

Aereon: They are an army unlike any other… crusading across the stars toward a place called UnderVerse, their promised land – a constellation of dark new worlds…

Lead Cenobite: Glorious, is it not? The creatures who walk its surface, always looking to the light, never seeing the untold oceans of darkness beyond. There are more humans alive today than in all of its pitiful history. The Garden of Eden. A garden of flesh.

Aereon: …Necromongers, they’re called. And if they cannot convert you, they will kill you. Leading them, the Lord Marshal. He alone has made a pilgrimage to the gates of the UnderVerse… and returned a different being. Stronger. Stranger. Half alive and half… something else…

Kirsty Cotton: Who are you?
Lead Cenobite: Explorers in the further regions of experience. Demons to some. Angels to others.

Aereon: …If we are to survive, a new balance must be found. In normal times, evil would be fought by good. But in times like these…well…it should be fought by another kind of evil…

Fade to black

Richard B. Riddick: You’re not afraid of the dark, are you?

Purifier: I’ve done… unbelievable things… in the name of a faith that was never my own. And he’ll do to her what he did to me…

Pinhead: Don’t debate with me, girl! Just come here and die while you still have the option of doing it quickly!

Purifier: The Necromonger in me warns you not to go back…

Pinhead: I am offering you a place at my right hand – flesh, power, dominion.

Purifier: …But the Furyan in me… hopes you won’t listen.

Richard B. Riddick: [Picks up his first assault rifle] Now things get interesting…

Vin Diesel

Doug Bradley

THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: UNDERVERSE

Toombs: If I owned this place and Hell, I’d rent this place out and live in Hell.
