No need to choose between style and comfort when packing. These are so small that it would be silly not to throw them in your suitcase.

No need to choose between style and comfort when packing. These are so small that it would be silly not to throw them in your convention bag.

As any geek girl knows, there’s only so much time you can spend wearing those Wonder Woman boots before the pain sets in on those long convention hour days.  Here’s a new solution.  Spare Pear.  Rollable ballet flats.  “SparePear is a revolutionary compact rollable/foldable pair of shoes that measures approximately 3.5 inches in length and 2 inches in diameter (when rolled).”  I can’t wait to try these out at Comic-Con.

That is a great concept! That said, though, I wouldn’t even let someone bury me in those. But, then, I live in heels. They are extensions of my feet. :)

I brought a pair of flats with me to Vegas in February so I could change into them if need be. They barely fit in my purse, and then only if I left it open. So, yeah: great concept, definitely. But I never buy shoes that aren’t comfortable, so I can wear my heels all day, walk and run in them, and be fine. Flats, on the other hand, tend to bother me because they are so confining. They usually have a front and a back, and the only time I am OK with that is if I am wearing tennis shoes or boots. Don’t ask me why….

I have only purchased two pairs of shoes my entire life. This will likely not by my third, but they’re still a cute idea.

Well lucky for you geek boy footwear is typically super comfy anyways.

What does it say if I purchased three pairs of shoes in one stop two weeks ago?

I have more than 70 pairs of shoes. Sad, but true.

I should count how many I have, it’s a lot.

I’m not a fan of ballet flats, but I am a fan of convenient, ingenious ideas. Thumbs up!

love you. I am buying these right now.

Bet they wear out quick, though.

I’m curious about that as well. I feel like some ballet flats hold up better than others.

I doubt they made these shows for long-term wear. It sounds like they are meant to give you some relief from your regular shoe, but that you should not plan on spending a good deal of time in them.

Personally, I say: Buy comfortable shoes. >;) They exist. Even comfortable heels exist. But for something to wear around the office or a convention for an hour or two while your feet take a break from whatever you have on, these are probably a good solution.

shoes, not shows

Because I must.

* Give your feet a break while walking to lunch, or staying late at the office.
* Give your feet a break while on a plane or running to catch it.
* Give your feet a break after dancing and partying.
* Give your feet a break while hanging out with your kids or running errands.

This list doesn’t scream “long-term wear” to me.

I have lots of comfortable heels. In fact I wear heels to conventions all the time. But I have to admit that sometimes I just want to be on a flat surface again. Plus, I like options. :)

Skeptically I got a pair for a convention I went in Vegas last month. Towards the end of the day, I was starting to look for every chair or seat opportunity I could find. That’s when I switched into these sparepears, and amazingly I felt like a new person!!! So now I always have it in my tote, and they’ve held up pretty well in the 2 months that I’ve had them.
