So I’m a fan of The Guild, I enjoy The Legend of Neil (when I’m not mildly appalled), and man those New Caprica BSG webisodes made me happy; but that being said, I really have a hard time getting motivated to go hunting for new content. But then a little bird (read – Twitter) told me about Scifinal. It’s a web directory of all the independently made science fiction webseries.
Sure, there’s a fair heaping of apartment roommate genre spins, but I kinda love those — especially ones like My Roommate the Cylon.
Or, if you prefer flatmates and zombies, there is Zomblogalypse, which made me giggle Shaun ..read more

Sarah Kuhn, the author of One Con Glory recently posted on geek six when Christy mentioned her book. I got curious, so I picked it up and I’m super happy I did. Here are 6 reasons why
1. To get a taste of the book, the main character, Julie, has her own blog. Excerpts of it are in the book, but I just looked at it and it is extensive, nerds like extensive things so of course I approve.
2. I’ve traveled the convention circuit to a certain extent. They are ridiculously fun, especially when you’re by yourself because you have more freedom to talk to random people. These ..read more
So it’s no secret that I happen to watch a lot of tv and movies. I have a love for them, but you know how you have this really great friend and then all of a sudden you’re spending way to much time with that really great friend and you begin to suspect they’re a giant tool? It’s beginning to happen to me. There are cheats on screens both silver and plasma to make things go faster, to move the story along, or plain just bug me. So, for therapy’s sake, I’m going to tell you about them so you’ll notice them too. You’re welcome.

So one time I was in a fabric store and noticed some great faux fur that reminded me of of Tauntaun fur. Immediately I texted my buddy Malaki (check out his awesome Iron Man costume!) and was like “could you make me a Tauntaun head outta foam so I can have a Tauntaun skin rug?”
He laughed for about five minutes then said “Of course!” He presented it to me at my wedding. It’s Hothian tradition, after all.

Tim Hodge is a well known animator who worked on such projects as Aladdin, Lion King, and Veggie Tales. His son, Matthew was recently in an accident and is comatose. The insurance won’t cover the costs so the National Cartoonist Society Foundation stepped in and started an ebay auction to help the family out. Animators from all over the industry have donated rare originals, signed books and prints. It’s a pretty impressive collection, I like the art from “How to Train Your Dragon” the best. Keeping with the App theme, my brother’s latest iPhone app was just released on iTunes. It’s called iWeapons Guns Pro and is pretty kickin’. It’s got four different weapons to choose from, including a flame thrower, which makes me happy.
On an unrelated note I totally had a dream last week where a Terminator was after me but luckily I had a shotgun app on my phone; not an animated app but an actual shotgun. Of course I kept on forgetting to check the safety (the vibrate/ring switch of course).
I’ve got three coupon codes if anyone wants to check it out. Just leave a comment telling me which weapon would destroy terminators most efficiently ..read more
A while ago I fiddled here with the idea of starting a ye olde booke clubbe here so we could have SOMEBODY to talk to after we read a fantasy novel just discovered by someone that the rest of the world read in 1996.
My plan is to just give people a heads up every time I start a new novel. If it’s a book you’ve already read feel free to post your thoughts on the story. If you’ve never read it before now is your chance to have some nerdole support (my newly minted nerdy morale support term). Either way you win! Or, I do, since I’m choosing the first ..read more

My awesome friend Cori made our wedding cake for us.
After much debating (we decided that Caprica Six and Helo would make to bizarre of a couple, for one) we settled on having Richard and Kahlan from Legend of the Seeker to be our cake topper. But there are no LOTS action figures to be found! What’s a girl to do? Why, have the same magic friend make some custom fondant figures! And so she did!
Details are as follows: the sword that Drew is holding is painted with real edible silver, edible 14K Gold, and is adorned with a real Swarovski crystal. Ever the attention to detail Cori also made the ..read more
I know this is far from official, but for fans of Sarah Connor Chronicles there still is hope that there will be storyline closure. There were rumors a while back that there would be a direct to DVD movie to wrap up the second season finale cliffhanger (spoilers – where John Connor leaves his mother in the past, literally, to fight the future IN the future.)
Brian Austin Green was in my friend’s store a few days ago and said it was still a possibility/their working on it. I know, I know, this is no great big announcement. But it makes me happy to know that it’s still ..read more

The Keeper of Lists had a fine one several years back that involved lines from Star Wars and Pants. I haven’t snorted that much in a while, and have decided that “pants of triumph” is now going to be in my common vernacular.
