A few months back I was taking a break at work when I saw a twitter from the guild asking for volunteers to be extras for the 4th Season. I believe I twittered back something along the lines of “heck yeah!” Anyways, a week or two later I was sitting in a restaurant before dawn with Codex, Fawkes and Vork, Zaboo, and Zaboo’s mom, who instinctively I felt like I should behave around her, like visiting a high school friend’s house and meeting their parents. I have an active imagination and if someone shoots lighting on tv I give them wide berth in real life.
After the shoot Felicia came to our table ..read more

There are exciting things going on at my favorite soap website (and yes, I do have a favorite soap website–how can I not love a girl who has made it her mission to eradicate that 3rd-day-in-the-convention-hall funk using the positive reinforcement of RPG dice?) Geeky Clean has made Cthulhu soap. I know, the horror, right?
But just when you thought your were going to go insane from the awesome, she also has new Eye of Sauron soap. If that doesn’t make me excited and quest filled every time I hop in the shower I’m not sure what will.
I had a virtual sit down with Geeky Cleans proprietor to talk about her ..read more

We here at GeekSix are fans of The Guild. Its no secret. We even recently put the cassette player on repeat when the season four music video Game On was released (which is climbing the iTunes charts).
But then I ran across this today. A certain artified image of a certain Wil Wheaton and a certain Felicia Day. I don’t know if I have more words. I just have to ..read more
My buddy Verona and I have recently bonded via facebook messages by sending bits of the X-Men Animated Series theme back and forth to each other. These messages mostly consist of me going
do do do dooooo do do
and her replying
do do do dooooo de do
and then, when we are feeling especially epic
dododo dododo dododo do do deeee dooooooooo
So, here is my random summer list of favorite bouncing up n down in your seat get ready for the awesome tv themes.
1 – X-Men Theme
There’s just so much awesome here. Cause there’s all the good guys, and ooo they’re powerful, but then there are bad guys too and they’re ALSO powerful and ..read more
Editor’s note – This is a guest post written by my friend and twitter buddy Jim Brooks aka @nerdsherpa. He followed me after @thinkgeekretweeted something I said and we’ve been BFF’s ever since. He decided to write about a slightly different geekery than we usually talk about here, enjoy!
I recently sat down for lunch with my friend Erik (@topfermented) to talk about his Kickstarter project, Mystery Brewing Company. I mentioned how all of the friends I know who are into home brewing have a relatively high degree of geekitude in common. Obviously, there’s a lot of science and chemistry involved, so there’s that appeal to geeks. ..read more

I’m not the snowiest bunny in the world, but if I was privy to $29 million, I would gobble up this little resort in no time. It’s not like it would be that fun trying to compete with ski mountains that are actually convenient to airports and population centers, but how rad would it be to get to name 53 ski runs, 9 lifts and some lodges based on whatever criteria you feel like? Back when The Canyons (a third-fiddle resort near Park City) was named Wolf Mountain, all the runs adhered to an animal theme. You could have a lot of fun assigning monikers to the trails, such ..read more

I’ve been wanting to do this t-shirt for a while, but hadn’t the means until I teamed up with the illustrious Jon Martin of Shirtoid fame. Whenever anyone would say “flying toasters” the mid 80s After Dark apple screensaver would pop into my head. You know, the one with the flying toasters. Thus a hybrid was created (no, not THAT kind of hybrid!).

As GeekSix expands its domination universally, we must not lose sight of first making sure we conquer on a global level. Therefore, I recently went on a fact-finding journey to Korea to load up on geekiness and other random Asian goodness. Here are the first fruits of that ..read more

My husband likes board games. A lot. So much so that he started a new blog to talk about it, cause I may or may not develop a glassy eyed stare when he talks to me in depth about expansion packs. Don’t get me wrong, I think they’re super fun too, but I’m more of a read-a-book type of a nerd than a roll-the-dice. I also turn into some sort of she monster when I play games past my bedtime, so I don’t play nearly as often as I could if I could sleep past 6 am.
Anyway, he’s much more organized about his blog posting than I am, updating almost ..read more

Well spank me with a wet pig and call me Sally. My phone blew up today as news started circulating that Joss Whedon has signed on to direct The Avengers.
Yes. Joss. Whedon. Avengers.
All I have to say is that this is probably a match made in heaven. First reaction was complete fanboy wank-out. Second was “Oh crap, Joss is going to take on ANOTHER movie project.” Well at least according the phone, and to news outlet CNN and entertainment outlet MTV.
Now that the OMG has worked its way out, I am still waiting for the final “Yes this is the case” from Joss himself.
But let’s digress and see why Joss+Avengers+Marvel+Movie=Awesomesauce.
