I honestly can’t remember if I already wrote a post about this or not when I discovered it a few months back. I’m too lazy to look it up. For those that don’t know who Angus MacLane is, he’s been working at Pixar as an animator and storyboard artist on just about every Pixar movie since “A Bug’s Life.” He also got to direct the hilarious short “Burn-E” that appears on the “Wall-E” DVD. Also, he’s a Lego maniac. For the past several months, he’s been creating what he calls “Cube Dudes” in his spare time. They’re popular culture characters and people minimized using small lego bricks without being super ..read more
Keeping with the App theme, my brother’s latest iPhone app was just released on iTunes. It’s called iWeapons Guns Pro and is pretty kickin’. It’s got four different weapons to choose from, including a flame thrower, which makes me happy.
On an unrelated note I totally had a dream last week where a Terminator was after me but luckily I had a shotgun app on my phone; not an animated app but an actual shotgun. Of course I kept on forgetting to check the safety (the vibrate/ring switch of course).
I’ve got three coupon codes if anyone wants to check it out. Just leave a comment telling me which weapon would destroy terminators most efficiently ..read more

My fabulous sisters have out done themselves again when it comes to Christmas time/Nerdy Present time. What to give the offspring that has everything? Why, business cards of course – superhero business cards, and badges, and the bane of every superhero – paperwork.
The best part of the evening was when my youngest nephew – who’s name starts with an “S” protested that his name was spelled wrong on his manila envelope, an envelope that read “Top Secret.” Ah, to laugh at youth.
My sister Apryl has templates of all the paperwork for the Superhero Kit on her blog. It’s a good read (my favorite line item - “communications with sea ..read more

I’m pretty sure I’d buy this in an adult size. Frak, I’m even willing to hop on the kiddy version and race any of you geeks that are up to the challenge. Now, how to convince one of my sisters to buy this for their ..read more

Somewhere in my parents attic lies a couple of boxes filled with all of my toys when I was a kid. Well, the ones they didn’t sell in the garage sells across the many years since I was a kid.
Well that is what they say anyways.
I am pretty sure that really means like my old rocking horse, stick pony and teddy bear of my youth. And it was all save to go to my son.
So I actually have no clue on whether or not they may have my trove of Transformers or GI Joes (the ones I didn’t melt). If they do, bonus for me and my son. If not ..read more

Dear Toy Companies,
As you are no doubt are already aware, Geek6 draws in literally hundreds of readers every day. Although I lack concrete data, I believe this represents a statistically large percentage of the Internet population.

My worst fear on car trips as a kid — besides getting lost — was getting bored. Even if it was a one-hour trip, I always had a lap desk packed and ready to go. It sat in my closet like an emergency first aid kit, stuffed with blank paper, some surplus markers, a few comic books and a novel, just in case.
One Christmas, likely after indulging my boredom phobia one too many times, my parents bought me one of the coolest non-videogame toys of my youth: The Etch-a-Sketch Animator.
Don’t you dare confuse it with a normal Etch-a-Sketch, mortals — those two devices had about as much in common as ..read more

“The Black Hole” is not by any means a great movie, but one that has some nostalgic value to some. Frankly, it’s really only fun to watch for the oddly cartoonish robots like VINcent (who was voiced by Roddy McDowell) and Bob (voiced by Slim Pickens). ..read more

When I’m out walking my dogs around my apartment complex, I expect to find random trash like McDonald’s cups and Kmart circulars. But I didn’t expect to find a dicarded back to an action figure that was made over 16 years ago. ..read more
