Space Women – Women in Space!

When Discovery blasted through the atmosphere this morning a new record was made.  With the three women astronauts on Discovery and the one already at the International Space Station that makes four women in space at one time.  For awesome!

This got me thinking.  If I was in space, which women would I want with me.  Which space women, that is.   And then of course, how would they behave on the ISS?  My list -

Princess Leia – Of course the constant committee making would be a nuisance, but she’s got good organizational and telling-it-like-it-is skills.

My Halloween costume, and the horror it hath wrought

As most of you know, when I’m not blogging about Voltron and Firefly, I’m a journalist in an undisclosed location.

As you may not know, journalists these days can be a rather dour lot. So, when I wore my Halloween costume to the morning news meeting, most of the other editors were not amused.

Until the kindergartners came by on a newsroom tour, peering through the glass windows.

“Do it,” our government editor whispered. “Turn around.”

Bowing to peer pressure, I slowly turned around and revealed my costume through the glass to the kids.

GeekSix is evolving. No more do you have to listen to just my weekly top five. Now you get to listen to the collective Geek6. That is right, each of the staff will throw down the gauntlet with what is at the top of their list. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
