
At the end of last week the books and eBooks of the America’s largest publisher Macmillan disappeared from the pages of America’s largest online vendor, Amazon.com.
What would bring on such a happenstance?
Well it all started earlier in the week with the announcement of the iPad. See Steve Jobs promised the world that with his iBookstore the publishers would hold more control over the prices set for the book. Macmillan was one of the publishers who had signed on to provide content for the iPad.

It is a day I have been waiting for for about four years. Even more when a man named James Rigney, Jr. passed away in 2007. And even more when a man named Brandon Sanderson came into the picture.
This day? The release of The Gathering Storm, book 12 of The Wheel of Time series. So just about seven weeks until I get my hands on the one book I just have to have.

For all you Angels & Demons/The Da Vinci Code fans out there, Dan Brown is set to release his next novel in the adventures of Robert Langdon. The Lost Symbol is set to come out in September.
Now whether Brown is a product of an over hyped, sensitive society that latches onto anything shiny, or a great writer, is in the eye of the reader. I tend to go with I enjoy the secret puzzle side of his writing, but it is not anything revolutionary. Brown is one of the few authors I went out of the way to read his other couple unrelated novels.
