Battlestar gets more backstory

Comics are all the rage right now as the medium to continue dead television series. It started with Firefly and Serenity, then to Buffy and Angel, then moved on to Pushing Daisies. The latest sitting out there now a backstory on the final five cylons from Battlestar Galatica. io9 has an early preview of the first issue.

You know, I am not sure if this will remain a viable option for the critically acclaimed, but low rated television shows to live on. Eventually the market will be a wasteland of canon television comic series. But where does the tipping point come?

Buffy rumors circling

Here is something to go in the “news so good, it obvious a lie or late April’s fool joke” column. But some random blog is getting some run for claiming that Sarah Michelle Gellar is in talks to reprise her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a feature length film.

Spike offers hope, realism on spinoff

SciFi Wire cornered James Marsters on Monday at a press event promoting Dragonball: Evolution. Marsters was around to talk up his new project, but of course SciFi Wire totally forgot about that and started drilling him about the always rumored Spike spinoff from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

Now Marsters has always contended that he would only put a five to seven year window of reprising the role of the ever loving vampire we all grew to love. With that window closing, Marsters offered up some hope that it could still get done, but was very realistic that the chances of a studio backing the spin-off would be slim.
