“I wanna name her Dottie after my wife. She's a vicious life-sucking bitch from which there is no escape.”

Christmas has come and sort of gone, and I stand here looking at my spoils. And all I can really think of right now is that I make it much too easy to shop for me.
Really, if it screams geek (or the sports teams I like) you know I will like it no matter what. And I will embrace it. I will wear it and smile at the confusing looks on the faces of those around me.
So its about the point where you are asking yourself what’s all the nonsense about a penis? I know, I know. But patience.
So I just wanted to share with you the highlights.

Just got back in tonight (well it was last night before I passed out and finished this morning). From where you ask? Well judging by the glitter in my hair some may claim the strip club down the street from the offices. But that was not it. That glitter came from a sailor hat some sailor chick lent me.
No, tonight was Salt Lake City’s Can’t Stop the Serenity event. Four hours of Whedony fun, Browncoats, raffles, auctions, food, beer and the Big Damn Movie itself, Serenity.
And as the movie made its way to the inevitable end, I sat there listening to my fellow Browncoats around me, cheer, jeer and sob ..read more

Yep, that is right. I think this will bring me to my sixth viewing of Joss Whedon’s continuation of Firefly, Serenity, on the big screen.
Tonight after some very serious dinner, meaning brats and beer, it was decided by those at the table that it was a moral imperative that we must attend the Salt Lake City Can’t Stop the Serenity event. An event that happens on an annual basis to raise awareness for Equality Now, a charity near and dear to Whedon’s heart.
But it also means I get to see all my big damn heroes in action again…when I am not watching them on DVD.
Last year I dressed up ..read more

Season nine of Smallville kicked off to some very lackluster ratings. Ratings so lackluster that they were actually the lowest season premier out of all Smallville seasons.
Now don’t get me wrong, The CW did the show no favors by shuffling it off to Friday nights, a growing wasteland for television. But at the same time, The CW got to crow about its highest ratings in the timeslot in the last year.
But Smallville is showing its age. Nine seasons is going to be a very good run the show. But with Smallville’s bulk of success, and the small little hit it has in genre series The Vampire Diaries, it seems inevitable ..read more

For many, many years now I have been a fan of comics. And for about the last decade, I have definitely been a fan of comic book movies. After all, before we saw Wesley Snipes as Blade, we were treated to David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury and Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle.
But what happens when comic book studios decide to embrace the art and story of a comic, but kick it up with some fancy new animation? You get motion comics. A medium that stays faithful to the story panels on the pages.
Motion comics isn’t a new thing. It has been around since the 1960s when Marvel sort of did ..read more

I have kinda gone back and forth on trying to put together something like this. Given that the Whedonverse is so small and compact, with most of it laying in the Buffy/Angel realm, I didn’t know if I could lay down a solid list without it seemingly being confined to one ‘verse or the next.
So I did what any great, intelligent writer would do…ask other people to do it for him. So one hot and blustery August afternoon I made my way around the GeekSix offices, knocking on everyone’s door. And my simple question to each of them, “Who is your headliner out of the Whedonverse B-listers?”
After three days I ..read more

Its no secret that I consider Firefly my most favorite television show of all time. And although it is past and gone, I always enjoy running into little tidbits here and there of the show. Even more, I love them when they come clustered together. It fires up the engines and just gets me going again about Firefly and its wrongs and how it needs to come back like now!
First is a lovely t-shirt of one of Wash’s most memorable lines (and one that I use much too frequently leaving people scratching their heads). Have to give thanks to Quantum Mechanix who are always supply the Browncoats with an ..read more

Quick question. How many of you get your television by actually watching a television? That is what I thought. There is a growing percentage of viewers who turn to the internet to catch up on television, or even watch television for that matter. Its a growing trend that is eventually going to send television the way of the newspaper if they don’t figure something out fast.
Even better than television on the internet is finding new entertainment on the interwebs. No longer is it just streaming television shows or viral videos. There is a whole new crop of shows that are web exclusive. And many of them can rival television with ..read more
